Magnetic Door Stop (DS3) Installation

The Magnetic Door Stop (DS3) is designed to provide a functional and stylish solution for preventing doors from slamming against walls or furniture. It also provides a "Hold Open" function, perfect for doors that catch the wind or high traffic areas where open doors are required.
This guide will walk you through the installation process step by step, ensuring that you can securely and effectively install your door stop.

Tools Required

Before you begin the installation, gather the following tools:

  • Drill + Drill Bits (appropriate size/type for materials)
  • Driver or Screwdriver
  • Pencil

NOTE: The magnetic door stop can be installed on the wall OR on the floor.

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions

Step 1: Choose the Location

Select the location on the wall/floor where you want to install the Magnetic Mounted Door Stop base. Ensure that the location allows the door to swing freely without obstruction, and the stop prevents any handles/hardware from hitting the wall behind.

**The location MUST allow the magnetic receiver to contact the main part of the door stop evenly and without obstruction. Failure to do this will result in a failed hold open function**

Step 2: Mark & Drill the 3 fixing holes

Using a pencil, mark where the 3 fixing holes line up on the skirting board/floor. Drill three holes (appropriate size for material) into the skirting board/floor.

Step 3: Fix the main baseplate & fixing screw to the wall/floor

Ensuring the center fixing screw is pointed outwards, fix the baseplate to the wall and floor using a driver. It should sit flat and firm against the surface, and center fixing screw should not turn.

Step 4: Screw the door stop to the center fixing screw

Screw the main piece of the door stop onto the fixing screw, ensuring it sits tight, and magnetic strip sits facing where the receiver is to be mounted.

Step 5: Line up the receiver baseplate and fix to door

On the back of the door, line up the receiver base plate so that it makes even contact with the door stop. Mark this location with a pencil, and fix the receiver baseplate to the door.

Step 6: Screw receiver & spring onto baseplate & test.

Ensuring the spring is loaded underneath the receiver, you can now screw it onto the baseplate by rotating clockwise until firm. You can now test the door stop to ensure it is aligned correctly.
